The interface looks like a blank yellow page, but when you mouse over it several elements appear on the screen. PeperNote has a tray icon which you can double-click to access the GUI. If you don't like that, you'll need to disable it from the Task Manager's Startup tab or through programs such as Autoruns. The program is set to automatically start with Windows, and there's no way to change this behavior from the program's settings.
